This is Hannah, looking a little sad on their stairs...this was because they had a lovely house filled with antiques and art, which Hannah wanted to play with...... Unfortunately, due to the conditions the AA couldn't get to us, so these kind people (Alan and Tom )allowed us to stay the night..... . |

...and then in the morning offered to take us to the hotel 40 miles away
(the AA thought it might be days before they got to us!!) Here is Hannah playing with the cats...she loved them |

And our saviours about to take us to safety ! | |
For my Grandad Taylor's 60th, we decided to go to a nice hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon to celebrate with the whole family. Unfortunately the weather forecast was terrible, with a ridicuolous amount of rain expected. We set off anyway, thankful that Tony was driving, as the conditions were attrocious. We got to the M40, but it was stationary, so decided to go cross country. Unfortunately, liitle did we know that we were headed straight to some of the worst affected parts of the country. We went through some very, very deep water, but ended up getting blocked off, desperately trying to find a way through, we ended up faced with a pretty deep stream to cross. A 4x4 ahead of us made it through and we tried.....but the water was too deep, as it lapped over the bonnet, the engine stopped...and wouldn't start again. As I panicked that the water was up to the windows and the water was starting to leak through, Tony quickly lowered the driver window, jumped out up to his waist in water and started pushing the car out. He managed to get it mostly out...and with the help of another car managed to tow us to safety. Unfortunately we were now in the middle of nowhere, I was 7 months pregnant and Hannah only 18 months, with no provisions. The AA said they would be with us in about 3 hours.....luckily, the owners of the house we broke down outside, came to our rescue, and gave us food and shelter..
